Vi Hilbert Hall FAQ’s

  • I RECEIVE FINANCIAL AID. CAN I USE IT FOR RENT AT VI?

    Yes. Vi Hilbert Hall is a qualified housing option for Financial Aid. Please talk to your Financial Aid adviser or the Blanton Turner leasing office to coordinate using financial aid disbursement.
  • CAN I TOUR VI HILBERT HALL NOW?

    The best way to see Vi Hilbert Hall is via our virtual tours on our website! You can also call the Leasing office (206-939-5677) to find out about upcoming open houses or check availability.
  • I'M A SOPHOMORE, CAN I LIVE AT VI HILBERT HALL?

    Yes! Vi Hilbert Hall primarily houses, Juniors, Seniors, Law Students and Graduates, but can also offer apartments to Sophomores as well!

LEASING

  • HOW MUCH RENT COST? WHAT IS/IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RENT?

    Vi Hilbert Hall offers a variety of unit types ranging in price from $1,160 - $1,980/month per person. Our units are fully furnished and that price includes all utilities and SU internet access. Studio: $1,541-$1,546* Shared Studio: $1,094 1 Bed, 1 Bath: $1,841* Shared 1 Bed, 1 Bath: $1,157* 2 Bed, 1 Bath: $1,459* 4 Bed, 2 Bath: $1,234, $1,267, $1,294 *These units are currently all leased for Fall 2021, if you are interested in being added to our waitlist for if one opens up, please contact the Leasing Office. In the meantime, you can always submit an application for a different unit type that is available and we can transfer your hold should a desired apartment become available.
  • HOW DO I GET ON THE INTEREST LIST?

    You can join the interest list here. When applying to our interest list, it will ask a few questions to confirm you are a current enrolled University student. Then it will ask for your prefered apartment style. To properly inform us of what apartment style you are most interested in, you may refer to Floorplans & Pricing on our website, then in the comment/ questions section you may add the prefered floorplan style. Our waitlist is first come, first serve so the sooner you apply, the more likely you are to be offered your prefered apartment style.
  • WHAT IS THE TERM OF THE LEASE?

    Vi Hilbert Hall leases run for a term of 12 months, starting in September and ending August 31 the following year. Not around during the summer? No problem. You can sublet your apartment when you don't need it. Check with the Vi Hilbert Hall leasing team for details.
  • DO MY PARENTS HAVE TO SIGN THE LEASE?

    Hey – everyone needs a little support now and then. In cases where you may need some financial support, your parents can sign a "Guarantor Form." Check in with the Vi Hilbert Hall leasing team for details.
  • WILL I SHARE ONE LEASE WITH ALL OF MY ROOMMATES?

    While you might be sharing a bathroom, you won't be sharing a lease. At Vi Hilbert Hall you are recognized as the individual that you are and each roommate will have their own lease.
  • IS THERE A DEPOSIT?

    Yes, upon signing your lease, you will be asked to provide a refundable (upon Lease completion) $300 Security Deposit. As always, talk with the Vi Hilbert Hall leasing team for more details.
  • IS THERE AN APPLICATION FEE?

    A $50 (per app) application fee is collected. Check in with the Vi Hilbert Hall leasing team for more details and to submit your application.
  • WHEN/HOW DO I GET MY DEPOSIT BACK?

    Take good care of Vi Hilbert Hall and Vi Hilbert Hall takes good care of you. Your security deposit is fully refundable when you move-out if you leave everything in good order.
  • WHAT IF MY ROOMMATE CAUSES DAMAGE? AM I STILL RESPONSIBLE?

    Each Vi Hilbert Hall resident will be responsible for their own bedroom space. All apartment common areas (living room, kitchen, bathroom) will be the shared responsibility of all roommates.
  • IF YOU ASSIGN ME A ROOMMATE AND WE DON'T GET ALONG, WHAT DO I DO?

    Trained SU Resident Advisors will be on-hand to help you with any issues or challenges that you are having with a roommate.
  • CAN I SUB-LEASE MY APARTMENT?

    Yes! If you find you aren't going to be at the Vi Hilbert Hall for a period of time, sub-lease options are available. Contact the Vi Hilbert Hall management team if and when the need arises.
  • WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS TO APPLY AND BE ACCEPTED TO LIVE HERE?

  • HOW DO I PAY MY RENT?

    Vi Hilbert Hall has lots of options for how you can pay rent, including an automatic payment transfer from your bank account. Contact one of the Vi Hilbert Hall leasing team members for details.
  • WHO WILL I CALL FOR MAINTENANCE?

    If you are in need of maintenance, you will simply need to contact the management team. Details will be provided to you when you move in.
  • CAN I APPLY WHEN I'M A FRESHMAN TO LIVE THERE WHEN I'M A JUNIOR?

  • CAN I RENT A ROOM IN A MULTI-BEDROOM APARTMENT EVEN IF I DON'T HAVE ANY ROOMMATES YET?

    Yes! The leasing team will be matching friends of Vi Hilbert Hall together to create roommate opportunities for the multi-bedroom suites.
  • DO I GET TO CHOOSE WHICH SUITE I WANT?

    Suite selection is based on timing and availability, please check with the leasing team for more information.
  • WHAT KINDS OF COMMON AREAS ARE THERE?

    There are lots of fun places to hang out with friends at Vi Hilbert Hall. The Resident Life Space features a kitchenette, laundry room, student lounge, and study room.
  • WHAT TYPES OF FLOOR PLANS ARE AVAILABLE?

    Vi Hilbert Hall likes variety. One, two, and four bedroom floorplans as well as some shared floorplans options are available so that you can choose how many friends/ roommates you'd like to share your space with.
  • WHAT ARE THE FINISHES OF THE APARTMENTS?

    - Wood-style flooring - Carpet in select living and bedroom spaces - Granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances - Views of Seattle city skyline, Olympic mountains and the Seattle University campus - Private bathrooms with a bathtub/shower - Privacy locks on every bedroom
  • ARE THERE WASHERS AND DRYERS?

    Yes! Vi Hilbert Hall doesn't like dirty socks lying around so there are laundry rooms located on every floor of our building.
  • IS THERE PARKING?

    Vi Hilbert Hall does not offer parking. Check with the Vi Hilbert Hall leasing team for details.
  • WHAT ABOUT BIKE STORAGE?

    Absolutely. There's a dedicated bike storage room in the garage for you to lock your bike up when you're not riding around town. There is also ample bike parking on the sidewalks around Vi Hilbert Hall.
  • ARE THE UNITS FURNISHED OR UNFURNISHED?

    Living at Vi Hilbert Hall is easy! Each apartment comes fully furnished with: Bedrooms: XL twin bed, desk and chair, 4-drawer dresser, step-in closet, WhiteSky network connectivity. Common area: Couch, two chairs, coffee table, dining table, dining chairs, TV stand, WhiteSky network connectivity and appliances! (induction stove-top, microwave oven, fridge, and dishwasher).
  • CAN I BRING MY OWN FURNITURE IF I WANT?

    Of course! Feel free to bring your favorite pillows, table, or whatever else you'd like to make Vi Hilbert Hall your home. Just keep in mind you are responsible for breaking down, storing, and reassembling any furniture moved.
  • ARE THERE DISHWASHERS?

    Yes! Each apartment has an efficient dishwasher to keep your plates and glasses sparkling clean.
  • WHAT KIND OF HEAT IS IN THE UNITS? WHAT ABOUT AC?

    Each room has individually controlled wall heaters so you can set the temperature to your own liking. There is no AC in the units.
  • WHAT KIND OF FLOORING IS IN THE UNITS?

    Vi Hilbert Hall features a combination of wood-style flooring and carpeting in the living room and bedrooms.
  • DOES EACH APARTMENT HAVE ITS OWN HOT WATER HEATER? OR IS IT A COMMON BOILER?

    You won't have to worry about cold showers when you're a Vi Hilbert Hall resident. Hot water is supplied through a central building boiler – on demand when you need and want it.
  • WHAT UTILITIES WILL I HAVE TO PAY FOR?

    You've got enough to focus on so Vi Hilbert Hall has made it easy. All utilities are included in your rent; including water, gas, electricity, and internet.
  • IS CABLE TV PROVIDED FOR THE BUILDING?

    Cable TV is not provided. The building is wired for you to contact your desired Internet Service Provider to set up cable or internet for your Smart TVs.
  • IS THERE FREE WI-FI THROUGHOUT THE BUILDING, INCLUDING THE APARTMENTS?

    Yes! In your apartment, in the student lounge or while in the laundry room– you'll always be connected.
  • IS VI HILBERT HALL CONNECTED TO A NETWORK?

    Vi Hilbert Hall is wired and ready for you to instantly connect to WhiteSky when you move-in. All Vi Hilbert Hall common areas are also connected so you'll be free to roam and work at your leisure.
  • DOES THE ENTRANCE REQUIRE CARD-ACCESS?

    Yes! Upon your official move-in to Vi Hilbert Hall, your Seattle University ID card will be the key which will unlock the main entry doors and elevators.
  • IS THERE A GYM IN THE BUILDING? IF SO, WHAT TYPE OF EQUIPMENT DOES IT HAVE?

    Vi Hilbert Hall does not offer a gym or gym equipment in our building. Check with the Vi Hilbert Hall leasing team for details.
  • IS THERE A ROOFTOP TERRACE?

    No rooftop terrace, but we are located on campus so you’ll be able to enjoy the campus garden areas for studying in the sun, or unwind with your friends.
  • ARE THERE DECKS ON THE APARTMENTS?

    Lots of natural light streaming in through large windows, but no individual decks. You will of course be able to enjoy the campus garden areas.
  • IS THERE A GUEST SUITE AVAILABLE? IF SO, HOW CAN WE USE IT?

    There is no guest suite at Vi Hilbert Hall. If you have guests visiting who need a place to stay, check in with the Vi Hilbert Hall management team. They'll be able to help you find accommodations.
  • ARE THERE PHONE LINES IN THE BUILDING? DO I HAVE TO SIGN-UP FOR PHONE SERVICE?

    With wireless access throughout, Vi Hilbert Hall is land line free. So charge up your iPhones and open up your laptops and avoid the extra cost (and hassle) of a land line.
  • WHAT RETAILERS ARE IN THE BUILDING?

    Your new neighbors are the Seattle University Campus store, Urban Storage, Anchorhead Coffee, and MariPili Tapas Bar. We're excited to have them!
  • WHAT TYPES OF RESTAURANTS ARE NEAR VI HILBERT HALL?

    Well, what are you in the mood for? Pizza and Pasta? Ethiopian? Thai? The choice is yours. Vi Hilbert Hall' neighbors include a wide variety of restaurants and coffee shops. Check out the full listing on the Vi Hilbert Hall neighborhood map.

LIVING AT Vi Hilbert Hall

  • WILL THERE BE RESIDENT ADVISORS?

    Yes, we have RAs living throughout the building!
  • ARE THE RULES THE SAME AS ALL OTHER RESIDENCE HALLS ON CAMPUS?

    Yes and no. Vi Hilbert Hall supports the Seattle University Code of Conduct but varies from other SU residence halls. The Vi Hilbert Hall team will make sure you are well informed when you move in.
  • CAN I HAVE PETS?

    If your pet lives in water in a little glass bowl, bring them! ESAs are allowed with proper documentation, please reach out to the leasing office to coordinate.
  • ARE THERE RESTRICTIONS ON HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN SHARE ONE APARTMENT?

    Vi Hilbert Hall wants to make sure everyone has their own personal space, so it will be one person per bedroom in every apartment.
  • CAN I HAVE GUESTS OR FRIENDS SPEND THE NIGHT?

    Sleepovers are allowed, but we recommend you chat with your roommates first to make sure everyone is happy with the arrangements.
  • WILL THERE BE REGULAR EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES?

    Of course! There will be lots of fun happening at Vi Hilbert Hall. The Resident Advisor team will plan regular events and activities for the Vi Hilbert Hall residents to enjoy. Get ready for some good times!
  • CAN I SMOKE IN MY APARTMENT?

    No smoking allowed at Vi Hilbert Hall.
  • CAN I DRINK ALCOHOL IN MY APARTMENT? IN THE COMMON SPACES?

    Per the Seattle University Code of Conduct, residents of the legal age to drink are allowed to have alcohol in their apartments. No alcohol is permitted in the common spaces at Vi Hilbert Hall.
  • Do I need to have a meal plan at Vi Hilbert?

    Juniors and above are not required to have a meal plan while living at Vi - however you are welcome to sign up for one if you would like! Reach out to the Housing and Residence Life office to coordinate that. If you are a sophomore, you are still required to have a meal plan per Seattle University's expectations.
